Individual therapy (adults)

At Safe Spot Counselling, we support adults navigating relationship challenges and life transitions. Whether you’re experiencing changes in work, family, identity, or personal circumstances, we provide a safe space to explore, process, and find new ways forward.

Counselling is available online via Zoom, or in person at our Petersham location. You can learn more about our approach and the areas we can help with below.

Support during major life changes

There are many life transitions, and expectations surrounding life stages, that can challenge our mental health and sense of self.  We can help with issues including:

  • dealing with social pressures related to life stage

  • parenthood

  • return to work or career change

  • grief

Support for relationship challenges

Relationships can cause a considerable amount of stress and anxiety, and counselling provides a safe space to work through these issues. It can also help you improve your most important relationship (the one with yourself!). We can assist with:

  • Navigating toxic relationships

  • Decision-making in relationships (moving on, boundary setting)

  • Exploring your significant relationships and their impacts

  • Relationship conflicts

  • Self-esteem

Our Counselling Approach

We understand that finding a counsellor can feel daunting, so we aim to make the process as welcoming and supportive as possible. At Safe Spot Counselling, we are inclusive and neurodiversity-affirming, and we tailor our approach to meet your unique needs.

Depending on what feels right for you, we may draw on approaches such as solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, strengths-based practice, psychoeducation, and narrative therapy. If you’re open to it, we can also explore more creative methods, including expressive arts — yes, even online via Zoom!
