What We Offer
We support young people aged 8 and up. Our approach is play therapy based and we can help with anxiety, trauma, body image, life transitions (e.g. divorce), friendship, grief and self-esteem. Medicare rebates and online booking are available.
Our Approach
We are friendly and welcoming and our aim is to create a space where you feel safe, supported and empowered. Our approach is rooted in compassion, empathy and respect for the lived experience of individuals. We inclusive and neurodiversity affirming, and we will work with you to determine your goals and what an ideal session will 'look like' for you. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on your needs. These include: solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, psychoeducation, expressive arts and narrative therapy.

Karen Rose (she/her)
​Karen is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Therapeutic Child Play practitioner and the primary counsellor at Safe Spot. Karen has extensive experience providing counselling in private practice and the community. She is passionate about helping people navigate life transitions, social pressures and relationships.
Karen's approach is client-lead, meaning that she aims to create a therapy space that is warm, empathetic and non-judgmental. She is inclusive and neurodiversity affirming, auses a variety of approaches depending on the needs of the client. These include solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, strengths-based therapy, psychoeducation, therapeutic child play expressive arts and narrative therapy.
