I work with adults and young people aged 10–14, offering support with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, separation and major life changes. Counselling is available in Summer Hill, Petersham and online.
Medicare rebates, Victims Services funding and private health rebates are available.
My Approach
Safe Spot is a warm and welcoming practice. You're welcome to kick off your shoes and curl up with a warm (or cold!) drink, whatever helps you feel comfortable.
My approach is trauma-informed, practical and tailored to the person in front of me. Depending on what you need, we might focus on understanding patterns, building coping strategies, strengthening boundaries, or simply making sense of what has been happening.
Karen Rose — Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
I’m an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Therapeutic Child Play Practitioner, as well as an Approved Victims Services Counsellor. I have extensive experience supporting clients in both private practice and community settings. I'm passionate about helping people navigate life transitions (such as divorce or separation), social pressures, and relationships. I genuinely believe that therapy should be a 'safe spot', and that was the idea behind Safe Spot Counselling.
Counselling fees and rebates
Counselling sessions are $160 for adults and $170 for adolescents (ages 10–14).
Medicare rebates are available with a current Mental Health Treatment Plan, Victims Services funding and Private health also accepted (BUPA, HCF).
